The Florida Blue Foundation recently refreshed its strategic plan, and updated objectives and focus areas. The Foundation will focus its funding priorities on these three areas that have a significant impact on the health of Floridians: Food Security, Health Equity and Mental Well-Being. The latest grant opportunity is in the Food Security program area. Food Security - Deadline to submit:  August 28, 2020, 5:00 p.m. (Eastern Time)

The Boeing Company has released their 2020 Grant Application for Florida eligible organizations. As part of their commitment to the communities that they call home, Boeing partners with non-profit organizations by offering grants that lead to lasting, positive change. The application deadline is Friday, April 10, 2020.

The Kids Hope Alliance is accepting bids for the One City One Jacksonville, Criminal Justice & Safe Neighborhoods Small Grant Program (ESC-0406-20). Kids Hope Alliance is seeking proposals from neighborhood organizations that can demonstrate a willingness and readiness to provide programs designed to prevent crime or make our neighborhoods safer.  The program objectives are to provide prevention and intervention programs to address youth crime and aid in making the neighborhood safer.

The City of Jacksonville's Neighborhoods Department is now accepting applications for the 2020 Neighborhood Awards Competition. The theme of this year's award is "Make it a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood." The program is designed to recognize the efforts of organized and registered neighborhood groups in the City of Jacksonville that have excelled in areas of clean-ups and other projects and activities that benefit the community or physically improve Jacksonville's neighborhoods. In addition, the first Regulatory Officer of the Year Award will be given to an individual that has exceeded customer expectations to serve the community in an official or volunteer capacity. All nominations must be received or postmarked by March 6, 2020.

The Cultural Council of Greater Jacksonville is launching a new initiative under the Cultural Service Grant Program (CSGP).  Applications are now being sought from eligible Duval County arts and cultural organizations for arts and cultural programs/projects.  Preference will be given to those that provide outreach to underserved communities and/or utilize Duval County artists and cultural providers.  (Underserved communities refer to residents who lack access to arts and culture due to geography, economic condition, ethnic background, or disability.) The deadline to submit program grant applications is Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020.  Applications must be submitted online.  To access the grant application, visit the Cultural Council’s website (click here)

Jacksonville Public Library has added Lynda.com (jaxpubliclibrary.org/lynda) to its digital services, giving cardholders access to more than 14,000 online courses taught by real-world professionals. Lynda.com is free for valid library card holders, and gives patrons unlimited access to learning everything from software development to design on any schedule from a computer or mobile device. To sign up for a library card, visit any Jacksonville Public Library location.

To increase the availability of affordable housing for low, moderate and middle-income households in Duval County, the City of Jacksonville will donate properties on the Affordable Housing Inventory List.

Section 125.3 79, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 22, Ordinance Code requires the City of Jacksonville to adopt an inventory list of all real property appropriate for use as potential affordable housing every three years.
